Made on new tapers, using the exceptional Chimera action as the benchmark and then reducing the blank diameter. They have added in a special way a new ultra light carbon pre-preg to the inside of the blank, to control torque and increase compression strength. Resin content and scrim weight have been reduced to control weight. The Torrix feels light in the hand and light in the inertia during the cast. Added to that , Harrison have been working on controlling torsion, the Torrix has torsion control lay up which will give better accuracy and longer casts. Harrison Ballista MK 11 The new range of ballista MK 11 have a new approach to rod design, Compression-Tension Balance is the philosophy that Harrison have used for designing rods. During fishing parts of the rod are under compression load and other parts are under tension when the rod bends the inner wall of the curve is under compression and the outer wall is under tension, when playing fish you have tension on the top side of the rod, but during casting it’s the underside, and in each case the opposite side is under compression. CBT is a way, philosophy rather than a strict formula in which Harrison balance the design to cope with these different loads during casting and playing fish.
